Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury Fight Could Come Up in April
Eddie Hearn says he believes a Joshua vs Fury bout in April could happen despite the WBC’s decision to sanction an immediate rematch between Deontay Wilder and Fury
Anthony Joshua presently undefeated Heavyweight champion just needs the WBC belt to become undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, which is currently held by Wilder.
Of course, obviously it was known to everyone that Anthony Joshua would fight the winner of Wilder-Fury bout but it ended with draw
After that controversial draw, the World Boxing Council have unanimously voted for an immediate rematch between Wider and Fury a fight Fury’s promoter Frank Warren says he hopes to get finalised “sometime in Spring 2019”.
This has scuppered Joshua’s bid to become heavyweight champ sooner rather than later and it’s still unclear who the 29-year-old will fight next at Wembley on April 13.
According to Anthony Joshua Promoter Hearn, “We’d fight Fury in April. He messaged me the other day and I passed on my congratulations. He deserves a huge amount of respect for proving me wrong…again!
“But what a time it is for the heavyweight division. I believe we have the No.1 heavyweight in the world and he’s consistently going to prove that over time and we’ll see what happens on April 13.”
Hearn also discussed about the possibility of a fight with Deontay Wilder but suggested the WBC heavyweight belt holder was not interested in taking on Joshua and having the opportunity of becoming undisputed heavyweight champion.
If Wilder wants to become undisputed heavyweight champion of the world then there’s only one fight for him to take [Joshua]. But I don’t know how important that is for him.
Joshua Promoter Hearn also added: “It was a great performance from Tyson Fury and there’s obviously a rematch with Wilder.
So Hearn who is Anthony Joshua Promoter suggested that Joshua could fight Tyson Fury then.
